Currently, George Birkadze offers several productions such as those listed below.

Napoleon Bonaparte


This new ballet in three acts remakes the 1994 libretto of the same title, whith music of maestro Khrennikov and text of Andrei Popov. This production presents a new perspective on the emperor's life since the beginnings of his military career until his demise on the withdrawal island of St. Helena. The French Revolution, his proclamation as emperor, campaigns in Russia, Waterloo and his exiles are gathered in this exciting epic story. The libretto puts special emphasis on the love between Napoleon and Josephine which, despite the turbulent events in which they got involved, transcended in history. Napoleon's last words before dying were: "France, the army, Josephine ..."

La Bayadère

One of the main works of the repertoire of classical ballet companies. The composer Ludwig Minkus put music to a libretto based on two dramas of Indian poet Kalidasa. The libretto was written by Sergei Kuschelok and Marius Petipa, who also created the choreography. It premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in 1877. The story takes place in the East Asia and presents the story of Niky, India bayadera in love with a prince (Solor) who should marry the daughter of Rajah ruler. But the high priest of the Brahmanical religion also love Niky. The evil daughter of Raja (Gamzatti) will not hesitate to kill Niky with a poisonous asp. After that, the romantic element gains prominence when dead Bayadere appears in the afterlife realm.
